GS66 won't boot past MSI logo after replacing battery
Hi, I purchase a BTY - m6m battery for the GS66 on ebay.
After swapping in the new battery, I try to boot with charger plugged in. The laptop will boot, however it will shut down after it reach the MSI logo.
Other things I noticed is the white light for the charging port flicker off & on. I swapped back the old battery in and everything seems to work again. Is there a problem with the new battery, or did I missed a step during the installation?

Hi @soundion had you tried letting it charge the new battery for some time before powering up?
If it still happens, ask them ship another battery to test out.
looks like it is a bad battery. sometimes if battery cannot charge, or etc, it may shutdown or put computer to hibernate.

@salmonjapan Hi, I got similar suggestion from the seller. They told me to charge it for 10 hrs and turn it on. I noticed after charging it for 10 hrs the battery charging LED still steadily flashes. It still won't boot or go past the MSI logo. Other things I have tried so far is holding power button for 30 seconds (battery disconnected) & testing for bad RAM (dual channel, both working) Nothing has worked so far

Have you tried re-installing the original battery to see if the laptop still works OK with the charger connected?

@jayeff Yep, old battery works and charging plugged in. Charging LED light is solid unlike flashing with the new battery.
