Trackpad & Keyboard not working

In truth, it was a last resort for me to replace the parts, considering they were working fine before I replaced the logic board, and still work fine if I restart the computer.

But it certainly won't hurt to try.

I'm back.

The keyboard that was sent turned out to be defective. Random keys would type on their own in the middle of me typing, most noticeably the equals sign and the spacebar.

Having reset pram on that keyboard, and also switched back to this current one, I can confirm that the keyboard that was delivered was the problem.

I am rather frustrated at this news as I had spent hours disassembling and reassembling my computer suspecting that there was some other issue or need of cleaning that would arise to fix it, to no avail.

@realhittman - So you are now working with a fresh keyboard?

@danj It is not. I placed my old keyboard back in, it's the one i am using now.

Frankly, I would rather endure periodic computer freezes than constantly activating random keys.

@realhittman - Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Maybe its worth looking at getting an uppercase assembly while a bit more expensive its a lot easier to replace MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Early 2011-Mid 2012) Upper Case $80 USD is not bad (Grade-B)
