How can I reattach the tail to my pull along racoon?

This is the Fisher-price roly the racoon pull along toy. The tail has come out.

Ok, so if the metal has broken in two, one lodged in the body and the other still attached to the tail you can try hot gluing the two pieces of metal wire back together. If it is more like a spring that has simply come out you could try to use gorilla super glue on it and push it back in there. If the tail moves/spins when the toy is being pulled along the floor, then you’ll have to disassemble the two sides and re-attached the tail to the gears that make it move. (If the tail just bobs up and down without any mechanism then skip this step.) I’m assuming you have the 1979 roly the racoon:

Do you have any tips on taking the racoon apart? It seems well stuck together.

Ok so with toys from the 60's and 70's they usually don't have screws. There are two ways you could try dissembling the toy. First way is to remove the glue from its materials (plastic) you can use alcohol or isopropyl alcohol. This helps loosen the glue from the surface of the material and therefore makes it easier for you to remove it, but be careful since the alcohol could be strong enough to eat up the old plastic or remove the original paint.

The second way is the way that I prefer, go along the plastic seam where the two plastic joints are connected with a knife and then pry the two sides apart. Old pull strings are concealed together the same way this toy is, this video shows a man taking apart an old marcice monkey pull string by prying the two sides open: https://youtu.be/56G09ublEWU?t=190

Be careful not to crack the plastic, since the toy is 42 years old.
