Why is my laptop overheating?

I have a:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
  • 2.8 GHz Quad-Core i7
  • 16GB Memory
  • 768GB SSD - 26% is available
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB and Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

The fans go on max for the simplest of demands, like surfing the web. The CPU Cores get extremely hot very easily. If I edit a video on battery the device will get so hot it turns off.

I have:
Changed the thermal paste

Changed the battery
https://store.ifixit.co.uk/products/macb...

Sprayed the inside with an air duster
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000...

Changed the left and right speakers - This was due to them not functioning

Changed the trackpad - This was due to it no longer clicking

What would you suggest I do in order to prevent the system getting so hot?

Let's install this great app! TG Pro so we can get better view of things. Take a snapshot of the main app window but first adjust its size so all of the sensors are visible (not needing to use the right hand slide) in one window and post it here for us to see when things are running on the hot side 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

I noted the CPU temps seem high given the lower temps at the heat sink fins. I’m thinking your heat sink has failed. When you where cleaning did you done any oily spots on the logic board where the heat sink tubes pass or see any white dust stuck along the tubes. Did you actually remove the motherboard? There is a few screws that hold the heat pipes and fin array to the motherboard. these have to be just tight enough to not allow it to back off. Also if it did come off somehow you probably just need to replace the thermal paste after you clean off the old paste. the old paste dry’s out and if the “seal?” is broken almost never reseats well enough without replacing it. clean old stuff off with alcohol and qtips. Also check the fins around the outside of the fan. These can get a layer of dust that you can’t just blow out and sometimes requires manual removal.

also when you put on the heat sink each screw should be about the same tightness. if even one screw is to tight you will only have a partial connection. You should also tighten in a cross or star pattern so you have the same tightness on each screw.

My guess is that you have one side to tight so the other side of the heat plate doesn’t get down enough.
