Best way to maximise the benefit of my Samsung SSD SATA III HD?
I've just received my Samsung 860 PRO 2 TB SATA III 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, which I was intending to install in my 2011 MacBook Pro (15").
However, I've read that SATA III SSDs cause problems with older Macs because they're too fast.
I've read a few similar Qs on here, but still not quite sure what my next course of action should be. Bit upset I hadn't seen the info regarding compatibility between older MBPs and SATA III SSDs before I bought mine.
I'd like to know, 1) Is it as simple as buying/installing a new internal HD cable for my Mac?
2) Is there a way to downgrade the SSD to SATA II?
OR
3) Should I just seek out an older SATA II SSD as it's not worth the risk of attempting to install the SATA III one I have?
Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thankyou.
