Battery not charging, sometimes not detected

I have a Powerbook G4 ALU 15" 1.5 GHz and almost every time, it says the battery is not detected. It just has an "X" in the upper menubar. Now if i take out the battery and replace it, it will show up, but it will sit at 0% and will not charge.

I can take the battery out while the laptop is on and it will stay on, so ruling out the DC-in board is an option.

As for the battery itself, normally System Profiler says the battery has a cycle count of 398. Other times it can't seem to figure out what i have installed. If i leave the battery out for more than 5 min, it resets the time on the PB. Coconut battery reports my battery as this...

I have also tried to run the PB battery updater but it tells me that the battery is not properly installed and will not update it.

So i am at a loss on what is wrong with this laptop. Hopefully someone out there is ifixit land can help me.

Now, i just took out my battery and put it back in, now i have the old readings from before. This is what both Coconut Battery and System Profile say about my battery...
