3 What is the part number for IC U5 in my Ryobi BCL14181H Battery charge
I have two identical chargers that don't work. The red light just keeps flashing. No visiable damage on the board. I am trying to find out the part numbers for several of the components. U5 is a 20 pin IC with no visiable markings. Does anyone kow what to part is?

IC chips without labeling or deliberately sanded to remove markings are meant to prevent repairs, possibly for liability issues. My guess is advanced electronic knowledge of charging systems for nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride and lithium ion batteries are needed to determine what and how a specific IC chip is used. Not for average diy repairs unless markings are legible. Have you considered used chargers for sale?

Sir, thank you for your comment. I was an electronic tech for 40 years before retiring. i wanted this to see what the pin outs are for this chip. Being older, I cannot always read the markings even with a magnafying glass. Also I can red some markings on other parts but cannot find the specs for them.
