Why my MacBook air 2017 showing serial number ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ like this?
i bought Macbook air 13" 2017 two months ago. it doesn't show serial number instead it shows ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ this as serial number.

That’s really strange
it could be a dodgy OS install on it,if you want you can reinstall it any it might fix your issue
If it’s the serial number you are after if you look at the bottom of the device ,it will be there in small print

I'm sure you've gotten a few cell calls where the callers number is not shown (blocked) clearly to hide who they are. The smarter ones use a VoIP connection and assign someone else's number, so you call them back yelling at them!
So why would someone mangle the systems S/N? The seller of this system didn't want the buyer to know! Clearly it was for nefarious reasons.

Iv seen people replace ram on these machines that have it soldered on with different configurations and it won’t show a serial number

@hellomacos - There is nothing related to the RAM in this series that messes up the S/N as long as the RAM is no larger than 16GB as that's the address limit of the PCH chip. Once you go beyond that you can corrupt the address space the EFI sits within. Older systems address space is lower so you can't exceed 8GB on them. Basically, you can't exceed what the system was sold with.
If there was nothing related to the ram it must have been a different model I had seen
