Washer lights flash but I can't select any options or start it

I'm not certain it's an Elite. It's this: Kenmore 29142 4.5 cu. ft. ENERGY STAR® HE Top Load Washer w/ Triple Action Impeller model 111.2914. It's practically brand new. When I turn it on, the chime sounds and the lights around the cycle dial light up, but I can't select any options or turn it on. The lights just keep blinking. I tried unplugging it. There's no error code. I moved the tub around and heard water sloshing but it looks like it's fully drained.

Hi @jacky_g

If it is "practically brand new" consult the warranty section of the user guide that came with the machine and check if the machine is still within the manufacturer's warranty period.

If it is make a claim for a warranty repair.

If not, what is the full model number of the machine as what you've posted gives no results.

Thanks @jayeff I tried unplugging it again and left it unplugged for about 20 minutes. Plugged it back in and it worked! Maybe just a glitch

Hopefully that's all it was.

My answer regarding the warranty still applies though.

If it goes faulty again and your method then doesn't work and it is still under warranty, use that to get it fixed. That's what warranties are for, especially if it turns out to be a faulty part that needs replacing.
