The coil itself consists of a spiral of copper printed onto a sheet of some sort of plastic type material. The copper is the only vital part; it looks to me like the black insulating sheet is what's torn there, and if that's the case it should be fine. I do see some copper showing through in the picture, but unless it's actually damaged, I'd think it would be okay.

If it was mine I'd probably go ahead and reassemble the phone, at least far enough to test the wireless charging. If it works, you're done; button it up and call it good. If not, order a new charging pad and pop it in when it gets there.

As @dadibrokeit says, it looks like the black protector is marked and not torn. Close the phone and test it. From your pics I don’t see much to worry about.

What if my phone ends up having a boot loop caused by the damage, what will be the solution for the boot loop? Beacause I have read blogs that after damaging the wireless charging coil, their phone ended up having boot loop.

The boot loop would cease once the damaged part is replaced.

Can I cover the damaged part with electrical tape tho?

Absolutely. Don't get carried away, just cover the scratched up part. The only thing that could come in contact with it would be the battery, and chances are the cover on it isn't conductive so you should be okay either way

@oizpx1xtarnxd3w No, if you're seeing a boot loop then the coil isn't just exposed, it's actually damaged and will have to be replaced.

I'd suggest you verify that's the problem by opening up the phone and disconnecting the wireless charging coil. Here's the plug you need to pull.

Plug the battery back in and verify the the phone boots without it. If so, you definitely need to put a new coil in. Note that the same plug carries the volume buttons too, so you won't be able to control the volume with the charging coil unplugged.

I wasn't able to find a guide specifically for replacing the wireless charging coil, but the German site iDoc has a guide to replacing the rear housing that does show the removal of the charging coil as Step 20 of their guide.

Step 24 shows you how to install the replacement part. Note that since the guide is meant for gutting the entire phone, you'll have to use your best judgement to decide how much has to be removed. For instance, you will definitely have to remove the battery and motherboard, but you can probably leave the charging port in place and at least some of the parts around the top of the phone too.

One thing to note about buying a replacement coil is that they come in two flavors - with and without the flex cable for the volume buttons. As much as I prefer to support iFixit by recommending their parts, in this case the coil they sell doesn't come with the volume cable attached. The bad news is the cable has to be soldered on, so I suggest buying one with the coil already attached. I bought one with the parts separate for my daughter's iPhone X and ended up just melting the flex cable when I tried to solder them together. Oops. You can find the coils on sites like Amazon, eBay and AliExpress; here's an example that came up in my cursory search.

Good luck; let us know what you find and how it turns out.
