Where is the backlight fuse... please help

My daughter stepped on my screen on my asus Gl503vm-db74 laptop. I was being lazy when swapping out the screen and left the battery in. Switched screen and everything but the backlight is working. Works when plugged in hdmi and can see screen with flashlight. My guess is I shorted the backlight fuse. I can't find any forums on my laptop or and layouts for the mother board and it's been rather frustrating.

What is the exact model of your laptop?

Hi @kodijoe, I couldn't find any scematics for it either. Is the replacement screen the exact one for your model laptop? Look at the part number on the broken one and on the replacement. Are they the same? This very important.

Are you certain the ribbon cable is connected properly and was not damaged during installation?

The HDMI port is nothing to do with the screen as such. It just shows that the onboard Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is working.

@kodijoe

Post some images of the board around the eDP connector i.e. where the video cable connects to the motherboard.

Not just the connector but the area around it for 50-100mm either side

Also look for any component marked with an F (fuse) near the connector within this radius and check it with an Ohmmeter and that it is 0.00 Ohms
