Glitch Screen after Doing Battery Replacement

Hello, I did the battery replacement for my 5th gen Ipod video. Everything is working, except that I now have a glitch screen. A lot of colors, etc, with the text very faint underneath. I want to fix this! Again, everything else is working fine.

@hs33 OI am really not sure about a glitch screen, but it sure sounds to me like either a bad display or a bad connection. Make sure that you have the ribbon cable is properly inserted and that the locking clasp is closed. Without that, the screen does not get a proper signal. Post some pictures of this "Glitch" so we can see what you see. 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

The display was fine until I did the battery change. I reattached the ribbon connectors as best as I can tell with the same result.

Since the batetry is actually one meant for your iPod we know that is not it. So that leaves eitehr a bbad logocgi board (failed dispaly driver) or a failed LCD dispaly. Chances are that this is a bad display. I'd replace it and re-evalaute.

Thank you for the advice. Much appreciated.

Have you bought the correct battery? There are two types, fat and slim. If you have too big a battery it will put pressure on the back of the screen resulting in what you’re seeing.

@strongbow The 30GB will fit the 60/80GB but not vice versa. It'll destroy the screen. Forgot all about it even after having done it myslef before :-)

I bought the one recommended for mine which is an 80GB. Maybe I should try the thin one? The part number on the new and old matched.

@hs33 Google the model number of the iPod and battery and see what comes up.

Will do. Much appreciated.
