Why do I have to charge the battery a extra 2 hours let it die & charg
I didn't realize there was a card and just charged it normally did i mess up or will it be fine

It's for calibration. The device isn't actually smart enough to know the capacity of the battery so when you first use it you will see the capacity probably drain much faster than expected.
Just use it enough to drain it under 5%, then charge it fully. You will find that the battery indicator will drain at the normal rate afterwards.
