Loud banging during last half of spin cycle

We have Kenmore Elite washing machine, model #110.44932200, which is about 20 years old. Recently it started a loud banging during the end of the spin cycle.

I opened the machine to replace the shocks and the front seal, and looked at the spyder and the rear bearing. The spyder was not cracked or bent, and there was no obvious signs of rust or damage to the rear bearing. I put the machine back together and the banging is still there during the spin cycle. I ran it with the top of first, and the tub is not shaking.

What should I look at next? It is a very loud, sharp, banging and really sounds like something is about to break.
