no LEDs lighting, replaced power supply. dead. AC line filter?

My computer (Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.0 20-Inch (Al) Specs Identifiers: Mid-2007 - MA876LL - iMac7,1 - A1224 - 2133) is completely dead. The power button does nothing... no fans or anything. I opened up the computer and zero LEDs are lit. I've checked out this document: http://www.scribd.com/doc/47791656/Apple...

I've worked through the suggestions. I thought it was the power supply and bought a new one from dvwarehouse. I replaced it and that changed nothing. Still no LEDs. Does this mean my logic board is fried? If it was fried, wouldn't one of the LEDs still be lit?

The last thing the document suggests is "If the issue persists, replace the AC line filter" But that is the only reference to a line filter I could find anywhere. What is it and how do I fix it?

It ended up being the power supply after all. The first replacement I received from dvwarehouse was faulty. I explained the problem to them and they sent out a different one... and it worked!

Usually you get at least one green light even with a blown power supply. Use a multimeter to test that you are getting power to the wall plug and the power cord. Keep using the multimeter and trace out where you are loosing power. Look for fried or burned wires. Remember that you probably have a short in one of these wires and the frame may be hot (electrically charged) to avoided getting shocked.

Thank you for your help and suggestions. I know it isn't the cord or wall, because I've tried others... but I will use a multimeter. Do you know of a guide or visual that I could use to know what cords I should put my contacts on?

I would start by checking the power connector to the power supply as seen in step #14 here and work my way back: iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210 Power Supply Replacement

So far on 2 iMac's the problem has been the hard drive. It never would have been something I would have guessed, but someone recommended that I unplug it and the problem was solved. I guess something was internally shorted out in the hard drive. As soon as I unplugged the drive, then plugged the computer back into the wall it would turn on. Originally I had thought it was the power supply but after replacing that and having no success I was looking for other options.

usually you get a white screen with the hard drive issues. Did you have the same symptoms as the question poster?

Yes, same symptoms. No power, no screen, no fans, and no LED's on the logic board. When you would first plug it in, one LED would come on for 3 seconds and go out. I believe the power supply detected a short in the system and shut itself off. Unplugging the hard drive allowed it to power up right away.
