Why don't the buttons work on my game and watch?

Hi, I have a Mario Bros. game watch that doesn't work on the buttons, the rest works, you can see all the graphics, but the buttons only work sometimes. I've tried to clean its contacts, but it still doesn't work. If you know how to solve the problem, please tell me. Thank you!

Try taking it apart, then check the cables for anything wrong, you might have a broken wire or a loose one, did you drop it or let it touch water at any point?

Well, no water, only isopropyl alcohol, the only cables I have loose are the sound ones
