iPhone 8 Plus cellular issue

I have an iPhone 8 Plus and it has a few cracks on the screen and back glass which I planned on fixing but there’s an issue with the cellular and it is disabled in settings. Under modem firmware it is blank and status bar says no service instead of no sim. A restart brings the function back for awhile and modem firmware shows up. a restore didn’t permanently resolve the issue. I understand that the modem could have been damaged in the drop but would that cause it to intermittently work, Or would it not work at all if it was damaged? Is there anything else i should check? Everything else works on the phone.

If you are not getting a reading for modem firmware consistently, that's likely to be a board problem. The coming and going could result from the board's temperature fluctuations. Thermal expansion can cause things to touch under some conditions, or separate in others. It's also possible there's a mild bend in the board if the damage was severe enough.

Where are the cracks on the front and back glass?

the cracks were only hairline, they do go over the logic board. The device has crashed and I used a panic log analyzer which gave the possible issue of "i2c3 line"
