Why won't my laptop startup

My PowerBook G4 ti was running fine till a couple days ago it would only start up have the apple logo with spinning wheel then just blue screen, but it'll start up fine in safe mode. Any help is appreciated. I first though it was a motherboard issue but I don't know.

Now any slight movement of the computer freezes it up.

You shouldn't be moving a running laptop around. Portable means take it from one place to an other, not move it around while on. HD platters are like old records, spinning at speeds in excess of 4200 rpm! The heads are very close (tens of nanometers in new drives) away from the magnetic surface. Movement can bang the heads onto the platters doing physical damage. FWIW SSD drives don't have this issue (phones & iPads/certain notebook/laptops).

Booting in safe mode skips many extensions. If Safe Boot resolves the issue, this implies a Startup Item or Login Item is the cause.

Before you start any troubleshooting or System or hard drive maintenance procedures, it is important to BACK UP YOUR DATA to other drives or CD or DVD media. This is important because the problem may be that the hard disk may be hanging on by a thread and the most basic procedure may lose the drive and data forever. ''If there's really PITA to recreate data make TWO BACK UPS.''

Take a screen shot of the Startup or Login Items you have defined and save the list to the top or shared folder of your HD.

While in SafeBoot create a new account. Set to log-in to that account or choose it at startup. Restart. If all is well your problem is a specific Startup or Login Item. Enable one item at a time from your list until you encounter a problem. Use that solution to fix your original account OR transfer your old data to the new account.

Thank you for your Knowledge, but my computer still starts up to the apple logo then to a blue screen

It will not start in a new Account? Boot to Original Disks or a full OS X install - Run Disk Utilities, DIsk First Aid, Repair Disk, DU, DIsk First Aid, Repair Permissions Did you add any new/update progam before this started?
