My laptop wont turn on but it shows a flashing power & charging light

I currently have it on charge, screen wont turn on but the power light flashes for about 8/9 times then the orange charging light will flash once, i have opened up the laptop disconnected and reconnected the battery and im using a USB-C charger instead of the one provided as i cant find the original charging cable, does anyone know how to fix this.
