Replacing Wii DVD Drive, Do I need to transfer PCB too?

I am about to order a new DVD drive for a Wii, but I wanted to know if the Wii requires the PCB to be transferred from the old DVD drive to the new one, just like the PS3 and Xbox 360 do.

David, the Wii drives are not locked to the console so you can just replace it with a new one. Here is the guide and the drive is available right here, as well as many other places. Hope this helps, good luck.

I just replaced the wii drive following the steps, but didnt work. Picked up a dvd drive from a 2006 and put on a 2010 WhiteWii.
