Screen Display 0n, but "frozen"?

Marilyn to perform a reset simply hold the power button down for 20 seconds then restart the Kindle. This will perform a hardware reset and you should be up and running. Do not be surprised to have to do this on occasion as the Kindle fire is sorta like Microsoft Windows where it gets confused at times requiring a reset/reloading.

I want to to shut down my kindle fire but the screen id frozen. Can you please help me.

The screen on my kindle fire freezes whether I am reading a book or playing a game. It is freezing more often all the time.

ok i took my kindle apart to fix charging port...now my screen doesnt respond to the touch? Did i do something wrong?

It's not working for mine, it is still freezing up.

To fix this, take the back off the device, find the battery, unplug it and then plug it back in. That fixed it. Amazon support was no help and they told us they couldn't fix it because it was out of warranty. So, we figured it wouldn't hurt if we tried to fix it this way.
