The port FW 800 is broken

I have four FW800 external drives. All these drives don't work with this port, they work with the FW 400 and they work too with other Mac using the FW800.

I try to explain better how the problem started. While connected another HardDisk to the FW400 port, I touched a little the cable FW800 and the FW800 disk is removed from the desktop.

Off and on the hard disk that was reinstalled on the desk.

Second time I touched the plug FW800, the HardDisk is ultimately removed.

From that moment on the disks attached to the FW 800 port does not appear on the desktop more.

I think it is a problem of bad electrical connection.

What should I do?

It appears you may have burned the port out. If some of the drives are 800 Firewire only you will have to get Firewire 800 to 400 cables. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?c...

I know the cabe and the adapter FW 400/800 but, if I like repair my Mac is it possible to do myself or should I go to the assistence?

This repair would require motherboard repair. I would not want to do that myself. If the machine is under warranty Apple will replace the motherboard at no charge.
