My iMac doesn't work anymore after I replaced the CPU and GPU

English: #1 LED is always light. When I press power, the #2 LED on my logic board flashes and goes off quickly.

English: One needs to be careful as not every system can be upgraded to what you might want. Apple limits what the systems firmware holds for the CPU and GPU micro code on the Intel models.

As we don’t know your exact model and what it had for a CPU to even offer any guidance on what needs repair as well as what this system can support as a replacement CPU if that is even the issue and might be difficult to get in main land China. You may need to re-install the original CPU and GPU chips to even have a working system.

The few clues we can see from your original post does sound like a logic board issue as the system is getting power (both the diagnostic LEDs are lightening up and you state the fan/s are running). Not all of the diagnostic LEDs will light without the display attached so that’s understandable if you don’t use the special cable extensions to hold the display or carefully spy the diagnostic LEDs from where you can withe the display attached which can be dangerous pulling on the cables damaging the cables or logic board connectors.

Can you explain what happened before you tried repairing as well as your exact model.

As for the swap out of the CPU that is the correct CPU this system supports. But the GPU MXM board swap out will need to be undone. While Apple did use MXM boards the onboard micro code is custom to Apple versions of the board and like the CPU issue you need to stick with what Apple offered for this series. Your options are limited to 256 MB or 512 MB Radeon HD 6750M or 512 MB or 1 GB Radeon HD 6770M boards from other iMac systems. While some have managed to get Dell boards to work I haven’t tried. Sadly these GPU boards tend to burnout as people often pushed the system beyond what was expected. Basically the cooling systems failed under extensive workloads or gaming. To combat that one needed to ramp up the fans to improve the cooling using software to override SMCs cooling logic. But that’s before the damage takes place, not afterwards.

Hi, you tried both the old CPU and GPU?

My guess something cooked on the Power supply unit or motherboard.

You probably need to find a repair shop or person competent at board repair/ diagnosis. You could try a different PSU although it could be a waste of money . Unless someone has better ideas 🤷‍♂️
