If your iPhone 13 Pro is stuck on "Activate eSIM," and you've already tried erasing and updating the phone to the latest iOS version (17.1), here are some things you can check or try:

1. Check Network Connectivity

Ensure your iPhone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi or cellular network. A poor connection can prevent eSIM activation.

2. Contact Your Carrier

Sometimes, the activation process requires carrier support. Contact your carrier to ensure:

  • They support eSIM for your specific iPhone model.
  • The eSIM is properly activated on their end.
  • There are no restrictions on your account.

3. Try a Force Restart

Try force restarting the iPhone, which can help clear any temporary glitches:

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  • Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple logo appears, then release.

4. Verify eSIM Settings in iOS

You can check if there are any eSIM profiles stuck in the settings:

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
  • If an eSIM is listed but inactive, you might want to remove it and try adding it again.

5. Check for Error Codes (Carrier Logs)

iOS doesn't display specific error codes for eSIM activation failures, but your carrier can check logs on their end. If there's an issue, they might be able to give more insight.

6. Reset Network Settings

If there's a network configuration issue, resetting network settings can help:

  • Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

7. Check for Carrier Settings Update

Sometimes, carrier settings updates are needed for proper network function. To check for any available updates:

  • Go to Settings > General > About.
  • If an update is available, a prompt will appear.

8. Try Again with a New QR Code

If you are using a QR code to activate the eSIM, it might be worth requesting a new QR code from your carrier and trying the process again.

If none of these steps work, and the issue persists, there might be a hardware issue with the SIM/eSIM functionality, or a deeper carrier-related problem. Contacting Apple Support or your carrier would be the next step.
