I purchase a used iPad from a pawn shop but it’s locked, how to unlock

I bought a used iPad from a pawn shop with no charger so I bought a new charger connected and it's protected.

How can I find the password or better yet reset it so is completely clean.

Best to return it to the shop and get your money back. The device PIN is locally stored but even if you crack it, you have iCloud lock to deal with. Not worth the hassle. Try looking for an iPad which is fully unlocked. I'. Sure you can find a used one than one from a pawn shop which was likely warm.
