Hi! Is something burned? Or is this not the case? I recommend to open it, and take the power supply out. Please check this one if the burning smell comes from there. Most of the time, this is the case and need to be replaced. Also check the drive and motherboard.

Hi there. Not sure if you can help, but I was playing Days gone and I saw a coloured screen before it shut down and a burning smell from vram chips. Is it likely the power supply? Power supply doesn't smell burnt. Thank you IA.

Probably it came from the motherboard. Please check if you can see anything that is burned there!
Hi there. Just now seeing your comment. So the only thing that smells a bit burnt is the 4 pin cable that runs from the PSU to the motherboard. I'm not sure if it's dangerous to put my machine back together and try it. I was waiting for new thermal pads to arrive, but having second thoughts as I don't really want to start a fire.

You can replace the cable just to be sure. They are not that expensive and easy to do!
