Why is it that I chargedmy iPod and have a dead battery?

I charge my ipod as much as is needed but lately even though I've charged it all night it still says its dead or will only work if it's on the charger. If I try to play on it or do anything the temperture screen comes up and its not even hot

Nychelle Gilliard, "will only work if it's on the charger" is most likely a battery issue. Replace the battery and reevaluate. Your battery most likely will not hold a charge. Other possibilities, which are not as easily fixed would be a bad dock connector. Check for any broken, bend, or corroded pins. Also check for dirt within the connector. Hope this helps, good luck
