P1690 code (CAN-BUS) on my 2015 Triumph Bonneville. What to check 1st?

Bike won’t start. Lights turn on but fuel pump and speedometer won’t. Battery is new and tests fine. Problem started 2 weeks ago with pump and speedometer turning on and off intermittently when I turn the key. Then when I would finally catch the “on” I’d hit the start button and bike would turn over. During riding, speedometer would flicker off and on but fuel pump would be steady with sporadic sputtering. One day I went to start bike and nothing. Question is: has anyone experienced anything similar and how did you go about fixing the issue?
