Not charging, indicator green light

Hi Mayer, I am not able to do what you suggested as the battery is completely drained now and it won't power on. The Magsafe supply indicator is showing a green light but it is not charging the battery not even powering on the laptop. I opened the lower case and noticed that the fan started to run when I press the power button but shuts off in a couple of seconds and no power. The laptop sometimes go in a on-off-on-off cycle but does not totally power on the laptop. I tried removing the battery and then plugged in the Magsafe supply but still no power after pressing the power button. Do you think it is the IO board that is faulty? I have tried using a 45W, 60W and 85W supply and no effect at all.

Hi Mayer, surprisingly the laptop switched on today and the magsafe indicator turns green to orange. However, it intermittently shutdown itself. I left it charged for 10 hours but the magsafe indicator remains orange and it didn't power on again. I tried removing the battery and power adpater and press power button for 10 seconds then put back the power adapter while pressing the power button for another 10 seconds. Then press the power button again after 2 seconds but it only gives me a high fan spin speed but not starting up the laptop. Any reason why?

By the way, I managed to do the coconut battery test before the laptop shuts off. It gives me a good and reasonable results on the battery life.

Hi Mayer, the laptop power on again today and showing orange on the magsafe indicator. The battery is showing 48% and is charging. I noticed that the system runs very slow when on battery only but runs on normal speed when the adapter is plugged in. I finally decided to send it to a repair shop for further diagnosis. I hope it is not a major logic board issue. Do you think?
