@asirajimamboleo we need to know what make and model you laptop is. You've selected a Monitor as your device.
First make sure that it is not suffering form a bad backlight. A simple check for that would be to darken the room and turn the laptop on. Then use a flashlight and angle the light at the screen on different areas. See if you can make out your Desktop etc. If yes, then the issue is a failed backlight.
Next, connect an external monitor to your laptop. If that monitor shows properly, you know the issue is with your LCD. Could be the screen, the display cable or even the motherboard connector. If an external monitor does not display an image properly either, the issue could be with your motherboards GPU. Let us know what you find out.
