Nintendo 3DS XL automatically shuts off after a few minutes of playing

I can't tell if it's the batter, circuitry, or what, but my Nintendo 3DS XL would eventually shut off just minutes after turning it on. It doesn't matter which game I play, it'd just shut off by itself in minutes. What could be the issue here? Does ifixit have a solution?

some of my thoughts

If it runs fine on charger but dies on battery → The battery is almost certainly worn out and needs replacing.
If it shuts off even while charging → The issue is deeper: ribbon cable damage (especially the top screen cable), motherboard fault, or power circuitry failure.
If it shuts off when you move the lid or hear a “pop” before powering down → That’s a classic ribbon cable problem.
