Background
The Aiptek Pocket DV II 1.3M LCD is a handheld digital camera and camcorder running on two AA batteries that hit the market in late 2002. The device was marketed as a cheaper alternative to higher end digital cameras. The Pocket DV II sports a 1.3 megapixel camera that has the ability to take either 1280x1024 or 640x480 photos. This allows for control over memory usage. The camera can also take 320x240 video with audio and has the ability to record audio by itself.
On the device is a flip-out 1.4-in. LCD screen for image viewing. The flip-out panel also features a traditional view-finder. On the rear of the device is a slot for Type 1 CompactFlash Cards that can extend internal memory by up to 512 Mb. Computer connectivity is achieved via USB cable. The camera can be attached to a tripod or operated in just one hand.
