Welcome to the iFixit How-To page! On this page, you’ll find documentation and guidance on various “how-to” skills. Many of these how-to skill guides are categorized under “Fast Fix.” A fast fix is not a hack and is typically a common repair that can be completed relatively quickly. The difference between a hack and a repair is that a repair actually restores a device to working condition, whereas a hack may temporarily solve an issue at hand. Fast fixes cover a wide range of issues including household and vehicle repairs. For example, if you’re looking to patch up a hole using drywall, you’ll be able to find that information on the fast fix page. |
This page will also cover various techniques to help a new user understand the mechanics and inner workings of the iFixit website. If you’re looking to contribute to the website, you may want to take a look at the documentation on [guide|102668|How to Create a Guide]. |
Although the iFixit community contributes to this page, the majority of the content is authored by students who’ve completed the iFixit Technical Writing Project. The iFixit Technical Writing Project is facilitated by our education team (EDU) and is used in over 80 universities. One of the projects in the program is the Fast Fix project. For more information on the Technical Writing Project or the Fast Fix project, please visit edu[dot]ifixit[dot]com. |
