2006 Ford Mustang 4.0L V6 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Replacement

This guide will explain how to replace a failing throttle position sensor or TPS in a 2006 Ford Mustang with the 4.0L V6 motor.     • Pull the release lever for the hood.

    • Slide the latch under the center of the hood to the left and then open the hood.

    • Disconnect the positive battery terminal by loosening the 10 mm nut and pulling the wire of the red battery terminal.

    • Remove the connector attached to the TPS by sliding back the red clip and pulling.
