The best way to complete this fix is to remove any food or drinks from the top shelf of the refrigerator to have enough space to remove the guard and light bulb. It is important to remember to plug your refrigerator back into the outlet after completion so food does not spoil. Removing the guard may require some force and specific finger placement, make sure to follow step 3 fully in order to move on with the fix in as fast of a time as possible.

Unplug the refrigerator to turn off all light bulbs and electricity running to them.
Remember that unplugging the refrigerator will turn off the entire fridge and any food inside will start to become warmer.

Remove the guard to the lightbulbs by pushing away from the door to unhinge the guard.

Be careful of the temperature of the bulb depending on how recent the refrigerator was unplugged.
