While many repairs can be accomplished without dismantling, there are times when it's necessary to replace certain components, e.g., power cords or handle casing. A power cord might need replacing if damaged, cut, or not transferring power correctly. It may sound intimidating, but it's easy to get started! If your power cord is shorted or broken, follow these steps to successfully replace it.

Remove all four of the 4 mm Phillips screws on either side of the casing.

Using an opening tool, insert it along the seam where both halves of the casing meet, and slowly pry the left side of the casing from the right.
Gently pull back the right side of the casing from the center molding.

Apply gentle pressure on connector shown at end of handle.
Using the locking tab on the electrical connector, press and hold while gently separating both pieces.
Gently pull back on black end cap of plug shown until the cord releases from the casing.
