필요한 것

  1. Blackberry Classic digitizer Replacement, Digitizer assembly: 1 단계, 이미지 1/1
    • Start by removing the back cover.

    • It's glued on the top and at the bottom. Use an isesamo and gentle force to remove it

  2. Blackberry Classic digitizer Replacement: 2 단계, 이미지 1/1
    • Like many other blackberry models, lift out the small plastic edge at the bottom of the keyboard

    • This will reveal two torx screws to remove

  3. Blackberry Classic digitizer Replacement: 3 단계, 이미지 1/1
    • Turn the blackberry around and remove all torx screws

    • Separate the battery screws as they are different

    • Watch out for the 00 Philips screw on the top left corner

    • Remove the plastic mid-frame

  4. Blackberry Classic digitizer Replacement: 4 단계, 이미지 1/1
    • The battery is held firmly by glue (or space putty?)

    • That 4$ card proved its utility

    • Be careful when removing the adhesive not to pry the small connectors at the base of the board.

its better to peal the white sticker off the battery without damaging it, then use that as a handle to pull the command tape totally loose off the left side. very similar to removing an Apple battery (but actually works). much safer than prying the battery loose with a tool

If I’m just switching boards, is it even necessary to remove the battery? Can’t I just switch the boards with the batteries still attached to their respective boards? I just don’t see the point of removing the battery unless you are replacing it.

I also don’t see anything that needs to be removed or disconnected that can’t with the battery still attached.

The risk of damaging the battery is way too high with that removal card, so it’s better to just use the (Authorized Personell Only) white sticker on the side of the battery as per its intended use. Besides after removal the sticker wouldn’t be reusable and would need to be changed by pulling on it which might bend the battery. So it’s just better to use the sticker for its intended purpose and save time and effort.

Whatever works best, but I can tell you that the white sticker can and will be easily ripped out if you pull too hard. The glue that holds the battery in place is pretty solid, so I’d perhaps suggest to heat the glue a bit before making an attempt to remove the battery the way you described.

    • The board is clipped and lightly glued. Use tweezers to lift the retention clips under the board to release it.

  6. Blackberry Classic digitizer Replacement: 6 단계, 이미지 1/1
    • Remove the micro usb connector, the audio jack and the 3 ph000 screws on the board.

    • This will allow you to push out the metal mid-frame

    • Once screws are all out, gently lift the broken digitizer. Make sure to lift between the display assembly and the black border.

    • Remove any remaining shattered glass from the display frame before reassembling.

    • Reassemble in reverse order

결론

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

If you are replacing the board and the battery, and can reach the retention clips under the board to lift the board out of the case, I guess it could be possible to replace both parts without separating them.

So I can confirm that you do not need to remove the battery to switch the boards. You can leave it stuck to the board.

Dear I fixed a Digitizer issue right now, thanks for the manual! While I fixed this issue, after assembling another issue occured: The speaker does not work anymore. Headphone jack works fine.

I checked connections, but nothing changed. Did I brick the phone, finally? Any suggestions?

hi, so this is really helpful to hear about these “retention clips” that are holding down the board as getting the board to “unfold” from the device is where I got stuck. And the info about not needing to deal with removing the battery is very helpful. but I can’t figure out where the retention clips are exactly, based on your photo/description - can someone advise? i watched some videos on youtube but no one specifically mentions the clips and i’m afraid to keep prying/pushing on it. Thanks in advance!

Hi ! I have to admit that it’s been a while since I last opened that sort of device. If I recall correctly, I believe it was on the side of the device, and pushing while applying gentle force on the clips (with a pair of precision tweezers) to release the board was all it took to release it from the frame. See image here ——> https://pasteboard.co/JKpSdcG.jpg -—> What I suspect to be the retention clips is highlighted. Hope this helps ! Cheers !
