If your battery light has turned on for you camera, it is dying, and will need a new one, use this guide to help with replacing the battery. This is a very simple procedure, so you have nothing to worry about.

What if the internal time/date battery is bad? A fully charged battery will drain crazy fast because the rechargeable internal No longer charges. Is there a fix?
Hi @ssilvia, there isn't a guide specifically for the CMOS or coin cell battery replacement but the Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS Outer Case Replacement guide has an image that confirms there is a coin cell battery. It looks like you should be able to access and replace it. The photo is a little blurry so I couldn't read the specific size. I hope this helps or at least this might get you started on the repair.
