I tried this, but the M.2 memory is not recognizable by the computer. Fortunately the computer was less than a year old so I was able to get free Dell service help.

Unfortunately, Dell said that this laptop had no options for upgrading the M.2 computer. It wa the same model number and I tried to put in Samsung NAND 970 EVO 500 GB. It did not recognize it.

Dell suggested I buy a new computer.

Any recommendations?

Hey, I actually made this guide. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. I don’t think it’s right for you to have to purchase a new computer unless the M.2 port is damaged, in which repair really isn’t possible. I don’t really know what could have happened. Did the computer actually boot into the OS (operating system)?

Can I upgrade the M2 card to NVME module? Technically the port are same. But have read on some forum it won’t recognized by the system.

It looks like the SSD I need to buy is a SATA drive with both the M key and B key, right? (not PCIe NVME or AHCI)

Getting the correct info from Dell is pointless. I’m looking at buying this 1TB to replace my existing 512GB drive.

Thanks!
