It is necessary that the HP Compaq NC6120 be opened up before key components within can be replaced. This can be done with some patience after removing key screws and lifting up a panel.

  1. Flip laptop so the backside is facing upwards. Pull the two plastic switches at the top of the backside of the computer outwards, and remove the battery. Pull the two plastic switches at the top of the backside of the computer outwards, and remove the battery.
