If your remote doesn’t work the first thing you should check is the battery; being a very simple device it's very likely that the battery has died. For the replacement all you are going to need is Phillips #1 Screwdriver and a new CR2032L coin cell battery. The battery should last you upwards of 10 years with normal use so don't expect to be back in this guide anytime soon.

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to loosen the screw at the base of the remote.

The battery tray is spring loaded and should slide out on its own.

The battery should come out with mild pressure applied to the bottom.
Insert a new CR2032L coin cell battery.
Make sure the new battery is inserted positive side up, there will be a small + symbol on the battery to indicate the positive side.
