GARDENA Smart Gateway Repair

If the GARDENA smart Gateway can no longer be powered on there may be various reasons which are easy to fix. This guide refers to the fuses installed in the device.

    • Remove the rubber feet. Below are four Torx T9 screws.

    • Identify if the fuse is blown. Take a multimeter and measure the resistance. There should be no measurable resistance.

    • If the fuse is defective it should be replaced with a new one. Component listed under parts.

    • Second component likely to fail is the TVS Diode (Transient-voltage-suppression diode). It is used to protect the sensitive circuit from overvoltage.

    • Measure the resistance on the two terminals. Resistance should be infinite.

    • If component is broken the circuit is shorted. Therefore the component can be removed in order to repair the device. Afterwards the circuit is not protected against overvoltage anymore!
