This guide explains how to remove a full or faulty hard drive in a HP Pavilion 14-n018us.
The hard drive is a piece of hardware that stores and retrieves data in your computer. A failing hard drive can cause your laptop to produce irregular noises and/or continuous crashes and error messages like “file not found” or “Windows detected a hard disk problem.” In some cases, your computer may not boot at all if it experiences hard drive failure.

Start by flipping the computer, so that the bottom is facing up.

Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all of the 6.9 mm screws on the back cover.

Run an iFixit opening tool along the edges of the back cover to disconnect all the plastic hooks.

Remove the back cover.

There are so many parts connected to the back cover, you can't just take out the screws and pry it off you will ruin your laptop.
I've used iFixit plenty of times and never had an issue so I assumed it was safe to follow this guide.
For example the hard drive, webcam, wifi card, and charging port are all connected to the back cover.
DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE!!!!
It is incorrect, this laptop is meant to be taken appart from the top. You have to remove the keyboard and then work your way down. Follow this guide instead:
