Place a piece of cardboard under the bicycle to catch excess cleaner.

Use bicycle cleaning tools to clean the bicycle chain, the chainrings, the cogset, and front & rear derailleurs until most of the rust is gone.
Some bicycles do not have all of these parts.

Drip the WD-40 bicycle lubricant on one spot of the chain and rotate the foot pedal until the whole chain is lubricated.
