The brush roll is an important piece to a vacuum. When it isn't picking up debris from where you're using it, the brush roll isn't spinning. Once you've tried to repair it and it still isn't spinning, it is time to replace it. This vacuum is belt-less which makes fixing the issue much more simple. By switching out the brush roll and replacing it with a new one, the brush roll will be back to spinning.

I cannot get the cover back on mine either
Add me to the gang. Seems that disassembly is the (kind of ) easy part.
Collin - can you help with this? I and anyone else attempting this are likely now forced to either junk their vacuum or take it to the local repair shop.
I ran into the same issue, and was able to squeeze the gray lever that controls the height back into where it needed to go by using a flat-head screwdriver through the top of the vacuum, and prying the hole wider, guiding the grey tab to flex around where it needed to fit back into. You have to go through the top with the screwdriver to guide- going through the bottom doesn’t work. Right when I thought something would break, it snapped into place.. not the best design, but it works..Hope this helps!
I ended up with some loose electronics that I don't know how to tuck back in
