This guide shows how to disassemble the Acer Aspire 5100 to remove the display screen.

    • Flip the laptop over so the audio jacks are facing you.

    • Pry out the 4 screw covers with a dental pick or other small pointed tool, and remove the screws located beneath them.

    • Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry the front bezel off.

    • The bezel will tend to "snap" off little by little, as you work around it, don't be afraid to use a little force.

    • Now remove the top cover by unscrewing the two Phillips #0 screws found at the bottom of the panel.

    • You are removing the cover behind the LCD, not the LCD screen. The two screws are the only thing holding it so carefully support it so it does not pull on and damage any cables.
