Thanks for this! Son dropped his S6 and broke the camera. All functioning well now with jsut $20 in parts and a couple hours of my time!
Concentrate on the edges of the back glass when heating, that is where the adhesive is and it's a pain to remove.
how do I determine whether or not I need to get a new glass cover for camera or whole new Camera itself.... my glass cover shattered camera still works but doesn't focus and I can see it moving when It trys to focus
You probably just need a new glass cover. Since the cover is cracked, it's creating an opaque thing for the camera to focus on, but the glass is way too close to actually focus on so your camera is just hunting for focus then failing.
My glass shattered and some dirt got inside. Then the whole glass came off, and my camera is "exposed". My camera is not cracked but all pictures are blurry/foggy. I'm guessing I need to get a whole new camera and how much do you think it'll cost?
