liquid spill, no power, faint ticking from capacitor(s)
i received a 2012 13" macbook pro (non retina) which had incurred some liquid damage. i've got a ton of donor books, so i replaced the dc-in board, as well as the battery meter board, but i can't get on...
when the magsafe is connected (for diagnostics, i've tried 45w, 60w, 85w) i get a very dim flashing light. the unit will not power on, nor indicate any charging.
i've attempted SMC reset, but the magsafe light doesn't indicate success, nor does the machine boot. i've tried shorting the power-on pins at the keyboard socket, which also doesn't work.
when the magsafe is connected, there are three blue/silver capacitors with the following text on each of their tops:
F37a
39
16V
and these capacitors emit a faint ticking sound. i'm fairly skilled in soldering and circuit repair, but not troubleshooting or part identification.
could anyone advise me?
EDIT: after pulling the logic board out, and placing my ear directly upon the board, they ticking may in fact be coming from the USB/firewire ports.
