In June 2010, Apple released the GSM version of the iPhone 4 (A1332). This version of the phone supports a wide variety of mobile networks including GSM/EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, and HSUPA. With the large connection ability, this iPhone claimed to have the best connectivity at the time. This phone’s battery also supports up to 7 hours of talk time (3G) on one charge.
The most common repairs needed for the GSM iPhone 4 are cracked displays and rear panels, and dead batteries. iFixit carries the best iPhone 4 screens, iPhone 4 glass rear panels, and iPhone 4 batteries on the market, along with an entire catalog of other iPhone 4 parts for the less common repairs.
Apple introduced the pentalobe screw with newer models of the iPhone 4, requiring the use of the Pentalobe P2 screwdriver. Along with this special screwdriver, all iPhone 4 repairs will require a set of other standard precision electronics tools. All iFixit Fix Kits come with all tools needed to complete the desired repair.
