내 문제

It seems that clients never drop phones on soft carpets; the phone waits until it senses a pile of gravel nearby to fling itself from its owner's hand. We've had a few truly impressive screen breaks lately as a result of small rocks and landscaping.

나의 수리

The repair went fairly smoothly. The home button cable is a little tricky to work with, especially that little bracket that keeps it in place. We also ran into a really soft screw on the home button bracket, which stripped on the first try. We muscled through it, but it added 15 minutes to the repair.

내 조언

We tried a few repairs with just the display assembly (no camera, no microphone) and it took forever. There were a lot of opportunities to gum up the works with hand oils, and we spend a lot of time cleaning out the connections and camera. If this is a new repair for you, or you're pressed for time, I'd recommend spending the extra money on the full display assembly.

Be extra careful when prying open the phone. You need just enough force to get the screen open, but not enough to damage the home button cable. We find most users need a network reset to restore touch ID after the repair.
